Animals communicate intuitively every day. For instance, when two dogs sit 40 yards apart in a field snarling at one another while crouched down and stalking each other, what might you think they’re doing? Although obviously watching for visual cues from each other and using visual recognition to identify each other as predators or prey may be part of it, dogs also utilize their intuition! It’s an untapped training secret many overlook! Animals psychically connect all the time – that connection helps them survive (read How do animals communicate? for more details). They even communicate by telling each other things like: “I’m going to jump on you!” and “No! You won’t!” They even say things to each other such as, “No! You won’t! Let me get you first and run around that tree!”

Your dog applies their intuition to humans
Just as she uses her intuition with other species in her pack, so too does your pup (cat, horse etc) use it intuitively with humans too. Animals intuitively sense our energy, emotions, feelings, thoughts and pretty much everything else about us – including knowing if we’re safe or not! Have you ever met a dog with whom you instantly connected psychically? That could be one reason; read my Animal Lessons book for more on this.

Human beings function differently from animals. Our culture has taught us to ignore our intuitive side and instead rely on external data and five senses for making decisions and communicating. Because of this, much of how we interact with one another revolves around words rather than emotions, intentions, energy flows or any other subtle factors.

When people find it hard to train their dog, the culprit may often be that they fail to recognize how their animal reads them!

Transparency Is Key for Dog Training
One of my key goals when teaching animal communication classes is transparency and alignment: really listening instead of just accepting what someone says at face value. Just listen to any animal, like dogs, cats, horses or any other living being: they all use this form of listening all of the time – even horses demonstrate it quite adeptly if your soothing words towards one of their herd are something like, “Hey it’s OK I won’t hurt you” but your intention is still getting him into his herd no matter what – that horse will understand that message from all parts of you that horse as it connects all parts of you that person – that horse will know it when someone uses such words with another animal such as an intention a lie because all parts of you connect ALL parts of you as individuals!

Animals require all the components in place for them to trust us as a source of guidance, rather than simply responding to words spoken out loud.

Working WITH Your Dog’s Intuition
Tuning into your dog’s intuition is the secret to successful dog training! While this means learning a different way of communicating with your pup, once you take into account how he or she interacts with you it begins to make more sense than ever!

Your task in training your dog now is to ensure all parts of yourself communicate what you intend for it to. Don’t send mixed signals, nor try to hide how you really feel; doing either sends mixed messages and can create confusion over which message should really be communicated to the animal.

Assume nothing, because every action needs to match up. Saying, “Hey, I’m just going to hug you” when your intention is really to grab and put an uncomfortable collar on them doesn’t count. Everything must fit.

When all parts of you (your emotions, intention and words) align in harmony, almost whatever it is you’re attempting to accomplish with your dog will likely be more amenable to what you ask (although this does not apply if your intentions are harmful).

How to Unlock the Dog Training Secret Dogs (and all animals) utilize their intuitive sight in an impressive fashion, not only sending images back and forth between one another but also being able to see any mental images we hold in our heads as we speak! It is this ability that makes training dogs such an effortless process!

Humans are quite adept at visualizing! All it takes to create effective visualization is matching what you see with what is said out loud.

Imagine that your dog has taken up residence again on your sofa and you want him to leave, yet they remain there, most people might say “Get off the sofa!” with frustration in mind. Yet when reading that phrase what images come to mind? A dog snuggling close onto the cushioned fabric as the visual; frustration as the emotion; and “get off the sofa!” as words to urge them off is implied by its very use.

Humans typically respond to this situation and move off of the sofa immediately.

Dogs will view this situation as confusing; your messages do not line up!

Instead of saying “Let’s lie down in your bed!,” what will happen is this: You now visualize your dog lying down on his bed; all parts of you and the dog line up together so they’ll respond immediately to your command – that is the key to successful training for any animal! For you this means the key to successful dog training! It all must line up perfectly!

Do it at Home
Give this a try today with your pet. Show your horse how cool their new saddle looks or show how much you care by sending her an image of a big heart. Yes, it really is that simple!

Do not fret; animals have an amazing way of picking up on human signals and your pet will recognize exactly how to pick up on this image!
