Discovering different kinds of soul contracts is challenging because they’re personal! Before diving in deeper, let’s first build some background on Soul Contracts so you have an effective framework from which to start understanding yours!
Soul Contracts (and What They Mean!)
Before incarnating into this body and life, your Soul was hard at work planning your lessons (known as Soul Lessons) during this life to progress forward with its evolution, growth, and spiritual enlightenment journey.
Types of Soul Contracts A soul contract between souls refers to any agreement made prior to embodiment. Prior to becoming Jane or John Smith, your soul gathered with many other human and animal souls and planned how you could all help one another grow during your upcoming lifetime. Doesn’t sound so great, doesn’t it? As humans connected to souls, it’s sometimes challenging for us to know whether certain relationships are aiding in our evolution or not. Your soul may know, but your physical self must discover. It’s an intriguing system we have been given access to: as more you work toward “getting” these relationships, the greater access and growth opportunities open up for us.
Types of Soul Contracts Don’t confuse Negative Soul Contracts, created prior to embodiment, with Soul Contracts Between Souls that form after birth; these two contracts represent two entirely distinct types. Life contracts can help prevent negative beliefs from taking hold. Perhaps your parents constantly disappointed you as a child; perhaps that set in motion a chain reaction of regret and change within yourself. As a result, you began to believe that others cannot deliver and the best solution was never to ask for help. These workaround contracts may initially seem beneficial but over time could become detrimental as life moves forward and getting help becomes more challenging; not being able to seek support could become problematic!
Negative Soul Contracts help your spiritual development as effectively, although their journey is slightly bumpier. Are you helping others even when it means giving something up for yourself, keeping promises, or feeling like every time you make friends they expect too much from you – these could all be examples of Negative Soul Contracts.
Animal Soul Contracts
An Animal Soul Contract is a pre-incarnation agreement between your soul and that of an animal to assist one another during this lifetime. For example, your dog could have agreed to help you learn to speak up more by being aggressive towards you – but this only pushes you toward becoming the alpha! As part of this Soul Contract between yourself and your pet’s Souls, his new Alpha behavior will help provide him with a safer, happier existence – it’s a win-win!
Benefits of Resolving Soul Contracts
There are numerous advantages associated with addressing both types of soul contracts (Between Souls and Negative), and doing so can bring great rewards.
If you are exploring your Between Souls Type of Soul Contract, that means you are exploring why someone is in your life or how your relationship with them has helped shape who you are today.
When working to repair your Negative Type of Soul Contract, the focus is to disprove an underlying negative belief – such as that others won’t come through for you because you aren’t important enough.
By working with your Soul Contracts, relationships change for the better and work feels more satisfying – or perhaps you switch roles altogether to find one with more meaning and fulfilment. Perhaps living outside of traditional confines finally feels comfortable to you (perhaps starting your own business?), or maybe taking care of yourself finally brings contentment (after all, “selfish” is just an adjective!).

How Does a Soul Contract Differ From My Purpose? Your Soul Purpose is what brought you here – once aligned with its path (that special “thing” that excites and motivates you), you’ll feel fulfilled and achieve all that your purpose requires of you. Soul Contracts help your Soul understand something it has been struggling to grasp or learn about for some time now.
Do we have Soul Contracts with animal and human relationships important to us?
Although it might sound bizarre, our lives are filled with Soul Contracts with everything and everyone that enters them – including people, family, friends, acquaintances and pets alike.
Can I modify the Soul Contract between myself and another individual or animal?
Contrary to popular belief, you cannot alter any Soul Contract that was put in place by your soul in order for you to master something important in life. You can however try and understand it more and as you do so things may become simpler between you and another individual. Mastering a Soul Contract does not always lead to the desired result. An example might include a woman whose contract with her husband included learning how to speak up, but when she started doing it he couldn’t take it and left. While their relationship may continue, this might result in one party feeling threatened or in both giving in completely and one leaving as they realize the other is simply incapable of listening – leading her down this path of leaving their partner instead.
Can a Soul Contract Prevent Me from Realizing My Goals in Life? Of course! Soul Contracts can prevent people from reaching their full potential by making them overly loyal, making them have difficulty telling off their boss, making them afraid to try new endeavors because they might fail and more. Instead of dwelling on these limitations though, consider all that can be accomplished as you learn to negotiate them successfully!
